Bike Shoes for Sale, Addidas, Diadoro, Shimano

Bike shoes are the essential piece of footwear for a mountain bike rider, but not every bicycle shoe will do the job. Just as there are different kinds of shoes for different types of sports, mountain biking is no exception.

While many bicycle shoes have cleats that attach to the pedals, mountain bike shoes may be a little different. They will usually come with cleats, but these cleats will be smaller than normal street cycling shoes. The smaller cleat allow the feet to come off of the pedals easier, which will be necessary while going over rough terrain. A good mountain bike shoe will balance both the ability to stay on the pedal while climbing, but also the ability to get your feet off of the pedals when adjusting to the terrain and objects in your path.

Break in Your Bike Shoes by Walking in Them

Just like regular shoes, before embarking on any long ride, bike shoes should be worn and allowed to stretch. If you're riding on trails that will require a bit of walking over rough terrain, a shoe that is somewhat flexible may be desirable for maximum comfort. If your mountain bike happens to have a special pedal system, you may be required to purchase cleats that are made specifically for the type of pedals on the bike.
