All About Mountain Bikes And Their Parts

Mountain bikes are an essential bicycle if you are interested in riding down or up some hills or other varied terrain. There are many parts that make mountain bikes able to handle this kind of riding and they are listed below.
Crank. Going from the pedal to the bottom bracket is this lever. In order for you to keep going, this is what transfers the power from you to the chain rings.
All about chains. This is the circular links that helps to transfer your power to the cogs.
Chain ring. The chain is held in place with the help of these rings with teeth. You may see that they are attached to the crank as well.
Bottom Bracket. From the bike's body to the crankset is where this is attached from.
All about handlebars. This is the horizontal bar with handgrips that is attached to the stem. You use this in order to steer the bicycle. All about saddles. The seat of the bicycle where you sit.
Pedal. This platform is where you place your feet on to pedal the bicycle. This is also attached to the crank.
All about hubs. This is the central part of the wheel that is where the spokes are attached.
What is a nipple? This is the part that holds the rims and the spokes together.
What is a brake lever? This is the handlebar lever that controls the brakes. The left lever controls the front brake while the right lever controls the rear brake.
Brake cable. This cable is the thing that connects the mechanism of the brakes with the brake levers.
Rim. Keeping the spokes and the tire separated is this metallic ring.
All about a headset. This is the part of the bike that connects the handlebars with the stem's front fork.
All about a down tube. This frame section goes from the bottom bracket to the stem.
All about front shocks. This also refers to the front fork's shock absorber.
What is an idler pulley? This is the pulley that is on the bottom part of the rear derailleur. By applying spring tension, this also helps in keeping the chain as tight as possible.
What is rear shock? This is considered as the rear tire's shock absorber on the dual suspension bicycles.
What are spokes? These wires are thick and are also attached to the rim and bub of the wheel.
What is a spindle? This is an axle that is freely rotating. You can attach this to the crank arms.
Skewer. This part is what attaches the wheel to the frame. What it's composed of is a metallic rod that runs through the wheel hub.
All about a wheel hub. This is the center of the wheel that is connect to the spokes.
All about stem. This part is attached to the steering tube as well as the handlebars to enable you to steer the bicycle.
All about seat post. This part supports the seat/saddle.
