The Mongoose Thrive – New wave of BMXing
January 29, 2012 by Joel Colman
For Mongoose, BMX is second-nature! The company began its operations by providing wheels, of unmatchable quality, for BMX bikes. Today, that commitment to BMX continues as it designs & manufactures some of the world's best machines for this unique biking circuit.
With mongoose's natural talent, they have created the Mongoose Thrive, the best example to their competition and to the riders that: "This is how it's done" in the BMX world.
There is simply something special about the Mongoose Thrive that sets it apart from all the rest. From the incredible flexibility and the many features, to its ability to perform many stunts and the ease in riding, this bike can take anything that any rider will put it through.
Fully Loaded and Ready to Rock
For a BMX bike manufacturer, finding innovative techniques and setting new limits is always a challenge! When Mongoose came up with the idea of putting a full-Chromoly fork into their BMX banger, it was an insanely genius idea! There's no doubt that Chromoly is the best bet for strength and durability but isn't it even better if you make the entire fork a single unit?
However, Mongoose creators didn't stop there! They are always one step ahead of their loyal consumers. To allow for higher jumps and safe landings, the Thrive comes with big handle bars and Odyssey pedals so one can fully enjoy quality performance and comfort in riding. The special "street" version also has grinding pefs and gyro brake setup.
Everything on the Thrive, from the Rush levers to the stock alloy brakes, by Tektro, are perfect for even the toughest runs. The company has gone out of its way to gain that little extra in every nook & corner. The end result is one insane machine!
Break the Piggy Bank?
Yes, the bike will certainly hit your wallet but if you consider the $370 to $400 price tag, it might not be too bad. The price is, still, $50 to $80 less than what the average BMX 20-inch bike costs and that is just the "average" we are speaking of. Nothing about the Mongoose Thrive is average by any means - especially not build quality or performance capability.
Not only do you get a bike that has world class parts and a solid ride, you get it for a price that, otherwise, gets you much less. If you are hunting for discounts, then you'll have to look hard for festive offers or special sales because this is one bike that is touching the limits, as far as BMX technology is concerned.
